Dear Friends, Residents and Family,

Happy New Year and welcome to January’s Newsletter.

Since our last update, we have enjoyed lots of entertainment and celebrations.

Glen, from the Beachy Head Chaplaincy visited, and kindly gave us a talk about the work they do and shared some positive stories to our residents.

Magician, David Croucher gave us a captivating magic show. The residents were entertained by tricks, effects and illusions of seemingly impossible feats.

Julie from Art of Noise performed popular well known 50s and 60s songs for our residents to enjoy and sing along to.

The Yesterdays treated us to many renditions of well known songs.

“Recycled” (live band) raised the roof at Woodside with 60s music for all to enjoy and sing along to.

Guy Sunshine bought a smile to everyone’s face with his extensive range of well known songs.

Hailsham Choral Society treated us to a beautiful uplifting carol service. Resident’s along with their family members were invited to attend the service and enjoy a mince pie and glass of mulled wine.

Our Christmas fete was well attended by residents and their family members. We are thrilled to share that we raised an amazing £452 for our resident’s fund! A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and supported us in creating such a memorable afternoon.

A scenic drive around Hailsham to see Christmas lights was enjoyed by the residents.

Friday 22nd December was “party time” at Woodside. The annual festive bash was filled with staff and residents singing and playing games. A great time was had by all.

Christmas is a time for joy, togetherness and creating memories. In this spirit, during the month of December residents enjoyed

Christmas card making, decorating Christmas cakes, making mince pies, gift tag making and making table favour bags.

Craft activities help our residents express their thoughts and feelings, along with creating something tangible that has meaning. At Woodside there is no right or wrong way to be creative. It’s all about taking part and giving it a go.
