Making Each Day Meaningful & Fulfilling

Dementia can be hugely worrying and when your loved one is diagnosed, your biggest concerns will be centred around them feeling lost, confused or alone. Our highly-trained care specialists will give your loved one a sense of belonging, ensuring they are cared for in a loving, familiar and calm environment. We support an active, brain-healthy lifestyle so you can rest assured they are looked after physically and mentally, in the most dignified way possible.

Our Dementia Care Approach

No two residents are the same and the degree of severity will depend entirely on the person. That’s why our approach is highly personalised, flexible and person-centred. We treat dementia on a case-by-case basis, altering our high standards of care to match the exact needs of the resident so they feel safe, comforted and at ease no matter what stage they’re at. Every day is made to feel fulfilling and meaningful and we encourage activities that stimulate the brain in a calm environment free from crowds and loud noises.

Six Psychological Needs

Love, comfort, identity, occupation, inclusion, and attachment are the psychological needs that need to be fulfilled in order for your loved one to feel safe and happy. Each member of our specialised care team takes the time to meet these needs and all nurses are trained to be mindful of them so they can spot early on if more attention needs to be given in a certain area. Living with dementia doesn’t have to be feared if it’s treated in the right way.

Their Home Away From Home

Our warm and welcoming care home mimics the environment of your loved-ones own home. This helps them to feel more comfortable and calm which is vital for long-term happiness. There are quiet places for our residents to go if they’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed and our huge garden is a peaceful place for them to relax, observe the wildlife or enjoy some therapeutic gardening.

Our Resident Dog Brings Joy and Companionship

Our resident dog, Tilly is loved by all of our residents but particularly those living with Dementia. Her presence helps to reduce the effects of Alzheimer’s by reducing the symptoms of difficult emotions such as anxiety, agitation, irritability, depression, and loneliness. Tilly’s kind nature encourages our dementia residents to be more interactive, sociable and energetic when they might find it more challenging in social situations with other adults.
