Covid-19

The COVID19 pandemic has been a worrying time for most and it’s particularly worrying for the vulnerable or elderly. At Woodside Hall Nursing Home we are taking every action possible to ensure all our residents and staff are safe.

We do not have any cases of Coronavirus in our home and we carry out regular testing on staff and residents to ensure this. Please see our safety measures below:

• Extensive infection control measures are used throughout the home and staff have to follow rigorous cleaning routines and standards.
• All staff are tested every week to keep our home free of infection.
• All staff wear PPE.
• All new residents are tested for covid19.
• Existing residents are tested every month.

When visiting is allowed we have strict policies in place to ensure the safety of our residents please see below for more information:

• Visitors are limited, for example ideally to one visitor, or to two visitors from the same household, per resident at a time.
• There is a booking system in place to stagger visitors and visiting times to minimise visitor numbers.
• Visitors have no contact with other residents and minimal contact with care home staff.
• Facilities are to use hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the home.
• Visitors are supported to wear a face-covering when visiting and wash hands before/after mask use.
• All visitors are screened for symptoms of acute respiratory infection before being allowed to enter the home at the front entrance.
• Please read our Covid 19 visitors’ policy before arrival or before visits to ensure visitors follow guidance, procedures or protocols to ensure compliance with infection prevention control.
• Alternative forms of maintaining social contact are used for friends and relatives; Letters, cards, photographs and emails, video calls.
• If you would like to arrange a video call- ON What’s App by appointment only. They are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 11.00 – 12.00 & 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm Monthly newsletters to family members, visiting in the communal garden or through meeting at a closed window and using a phone to communicate with.
• Remote considerations are also considered by other visitors such as professionals and clinical consultation.
